IDE has secured a contract from KNDS Germany to supply its WiSPRevo Communication and Information System (CIS) for newly manufactured LEOPARD 2A8 Main Battle Tanks destined for the international market.

The agreement builds on the long-standing cooperation between KNDS and IDE and extends WiSPRevo’s integration across the LEOPARD 2 platform. It combines the advanced capabilities of the LEOPARD 2A8 with digital communications and networking technology designed to meet the operational requirements of modern armoured forces.

A central feature of WiSPRevo is its Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR) technology, which supports clear crew communications in the demanding acoustic environment of armoured vehicles. By significantly reducing environmental noise, the system helps protect operators’ hearing and maintain situational awareness during field operations. Its hearing protection capabilities are designed to support compliance with EU Directive 2003/10/EC on occupational exposure to noise.

The contract further strengthens IDE’s participation in armoured vehicle programmes serving NATO users. WiSPRevo supports the digital transformation of land platforms through an adaptable architecture that accommodates evolving tactical radios, command-and-control applications, sensors and computing technologies. This approach facilitates future upgrades to communications subsystems and C4ISR capabilities throughout the system’s operational life.
