General Dynamics Presents Ammunition Capabilities to Greek Military Officials

General Dynamics presented its ammunition products and services to Greek military officials during a meeting at the Hellenic Air Force General Staff . Jayra Adeline Badillo, Director of International Business Development, represented the company in discussions with staff from the Army, Navy and Air Force general staffs. According to the Greek MOD announcement the meeting was intended to brief participants on the company’s capabilities in the ammunition sector. The statement did not identify specific products, procurement requirements or proposed quantities, and no contract or industrial cooperation agreement was announced.

The company’s ammunition activities are conducted through General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GDOTS), whose portfolio encompasses small-, medium- and large-calibre ammunition, artillery rounds, mortar munitions and associated components. This breadth gives its business relevance across land, maritime and air operations, matching the range of services represented at the Athens meeting. Its activities extend beyond finished ammunition to include metal projectile bodies, propellants and other elements of the production chain. The portfolio therefore covers both ammunition supplied for operational use and industrial capabilities supporting its manufacture. These publicly listed capabilities provide context for the briefing, although the Greek announcement did not specify which were presented.

Within medium-calibre ammunition, General Dynamics offers families for several established weapon systems, including 20mm, 25mm and 30mm applications. Its published range includes 20mm ammunition for aircraft guns and naval close-in defence systems, 25mm cartridges for vehicle and maritime weapons, and 30mm rounds for helicopter and cannon applications. Operational ammunition is complemented by target-practice variants, allowing customers to address training requirements alongside combat stocks. The company also lists a 50mm ammunition family associated with future combat vehicle capabilities. These products illustrate the variety of platforms served by the business, but their inclusion in the wider catalogue should not be interpreted as evidence of a Greek acquisition decision or selection.

Artillery ammunition represents another substantial part of the company’s activities. GDOTS describes its 155mm offering as covering projectile metal parts, explosive filling, propelling charges and load, assemble and pack operations. Its investment in this field has included a $218 million initial US Army task order announced in October 2023 for M1128 ammunition production and associated facilities at Camden, Arkansas. That award formed part of a wider effort to expand artillery ammunition manufacturing capacity. The industrial dimension is significant because the supply of complete rounds depends on several linked production stages, extending from component manufacture to final assembly and preparation for delivery.
