Flight testing is planned to begin in 2027, while production of earlier RUTA variants is expected to scale across Europe from 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system is designed around industrial-scale production, rapid replenishment, and operational availability during prolonged high-intensity conflict. According to Destinus, the program will be structured around three main industrial hubs: the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Netherlands, Destinus will remain the engineering and design authority and continue serving as the primary RUTA production site. Ukraine will contribute to development, operational testing, and component manufacturing, drawing directly on battlefield experience. In Germany, the planned Rheinmetall Destinus Strike Systems joint venture is expected to provide high-rate manufacturing, qualification, and final integration capacity for the Bundeswehr and wider European customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rheinmetall plans to begin production of RUTA Block 1 and Block 2 at its Unterl\u00fc\u00df site in 2026\u20132027, with Block 3 to follow after flight testing and qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RUTA Block 3 is planned to feature a 250 kg-class warhead, a next-generation Destinus T220 turbojet engine, advanced autonomous navigation for GNSS-degraded environments, and terminal sensing and guidance capabilities currently under development. The system will use a standard ISO containerized launch architecture suitable for land-based, maritime, and fixed-site deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Destinus CEO Mikhail Kokorich said the program reflects Europe\u2019s need to move beyond limited inventories toward sustainable long-range strike production.
