Rheinmetall to Showcase Hybrid Fleet Technologies at Euronaval 2026
Rheinmetall will present its expanding maritime portfolio at Euronaval, taking place from 3 to 6 November 2026 in Paris, highlighting technologies designed to support increasingly networked and flexible naval forces. Exhibiting in Hall 6, Stand J61, the company will showcase unmanned surface vessels, naval weapons, decoy systems and sea mines. Its presentation centres on the development of hybrid fleets, combining crewed warships with unmanned platforms to address evolving operational requirements and increasingly complex maritime threats.
The portfolio reflects the growing importance of integrating different platforms, sensors and weapons into a coordinated naval force. Rheinmetall identifies its newly developed GMF 140 Guided Missile Frigate, the Kraken K3 Unmanned Surface Vessel and associated maritime systems as elements of this approach. As navies seek greater operational flexibility, the company is positioning its capabilities across both conventional combat vessels and autonomous platforms, supported by armament and protection systems for a broad range of maritime missions.
A principal highlight will be the Kraken K3, which Rheinmetall says is manufactured in series production at its Hamburg facility. Euronaval will mark the vessel’s first presentation to a wider audience. Its appearance underscores the company’s emphasis on unmanned surface systems as part of future fleet structures. Alongside the Kraken K3, Rheinmetall will display the FV-014 loitering munition, combining reconnaissance, target identification and precision engagement. Designed for ranges of up to 100 kilometres, it can engage armoured and unarmoured targets. According to the company, its sensors, connectivity and autonomy support operations in challenging environments, including those affected by GNSS interference.
For naval modernisation programmes, Rheinmetall will present the Millennium Gun in a fully self-contained configuration that operates independently of a host vessel’s onboard data infrastructure. The solution incorporates the Oerlikon AESA Multi-Mission Radar, an S-band surveillance system for short-range air defence, together with a combined fire-control radar and electro-optical tracker. A compact command and weapon control system, described as a mini-CMS, integrates sensor information in real time. This arrangement enables operators to control the engagement chain against dynamic airborne and surface threats, offering a configuration intended to support installation across different naval platforms.
Another exhibition première will be MASS Nova, the next generation of Rheinmetall’s Multi Ammunition Softkill System. The updated system features a newly developed launcher with variable launch angles and increased capacity for 81 mm Omni-Trap decoy ammunition. Rheinmetall specifies a capacity of 40+4 decoys and a higher firing rate, intended to accelerate responses to incoming threats. The development extends the company’s naval protection offering as surface combatants face demanding requirements for rapid and adaptable defensive measures.
Rheinmetall will also introduce Asteria, a new generation of multi-effect sea mines designed for deployment from surface vessels, transport aircraft and submarines. The company states that a bidirectional acoustic link enables remote control, supporting flexible employment in the protection of harbours, straits, port facilities and other critical areas. Together, the systems on display illustrate Rheinmetall’s approach to combining platforms, weapons, sensors and protective technologies within a broader maritime portfolio supporting future naval operations and the continuing transition towards integrated hybrid fleet structures.
