KNDS Mobility announced the commercial launch of CELERIS 8×8 at the MSPO 2026 defence exhibition in Kielce, Poland, presenting a new-generation mobility platform designed to accelerate the development of heavy-wheeled military vehicles. The introduction of the 8×8 solution followed the strategic integration of KNDS Mobility into the KNDS Group in April 2026 and completed the company’s portfolio of dedicated military mobility platforms, which now encompasses tracked vehicles as well as 4×4, 6×6 and 8×8 configurations. According to the company, CELERIS 8×8 supports KNDS’s European and international strategy by strengthening the Group’s control over critical vehicle technologies and expanding its capacity to deliver complete, NATO-compatible systems to customers worldwide. The platform combines KNDS’s experience as a prime contractor for land systems with specialised military mobility technologies, creating additional opportunities for international industrial cooperation, local production and the integration of customer-specific mission systems.

Building on the commercial success of CELERIS 4×4, which has already been selected and deployed in five countries, CELERIS 8×8 extends the company’s partnership-based development model into the heavy-wheeled combat vehicle market. The solution is supplied as a series of fully adaptable mobility kits incorporating the principal military-qualified components required to develop high-performance vehicles weighing up to 36 tonnes. Its power architecture includes a high-performance powerpack, transmission and an integrated thermal-management system. Mobility and agility are supported by heavy-duty military axles manufactured in-house, together with suspension, steering and braking systems designed to deliver reliable performance across demanding terrain and complex vehicle configurations. The package also includes integrated vehicle electronics, a customised human-machine interface and power-generation and management capabilities for onboard mission equipment. The modular approach enables the mobility foundation to be adapted to the operational, technical and industrial requirements of individual customers.

KNDS Mobility said the new offer would allow vehicle manufacturers and armed forces to avoid lengthy research-and-development processes by providing a complete, customised and ready-to-integrate mobility foundation. Customers can therefore concentrate on designing their preferred vehicle architecture, installing specialised mission systems and establishing domestic manufacturing capabilities. According to the company, this flexible industrial model could substantially shorten conventional development schedules and enable a new locally produced vehicle to be presented within approximately one year of a programme’s launch. CELERIS 8×8 can support both chassis-based and monocoque vehicle designs and is suitable for a broad range of operational applications, including infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, amphibious platforms and high-mobility logistics vehicles.

The new platform draws upon KNDS Mobility’s decades of experience supporting major international 8×8 programmes. The company’s technologies and components have contributed to vehicles including France’s VBCI, Singapore’s TERREX and Serbia’s LAZAR 3. KNDS stated that CELERIS 8×8 would provide its land-systems portfolio with a versatile new capability able to address urgent requirements emerging from modern battlefields. The wider KNDS Group employs almost 11,000 people and generated revenue of €4.4 billion in 2025, while reporting an order backlog of €33.1 billion at the end of that year. Created through the alliance of Nexter and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, KNDS supplies complete land-warfare solutions, ammunition and lifecycle services to more than 40 armed forces worldwide, including 24 European military customers.
